How to Install Cyanogen to SE Xperia X10 mini

To root into SE Xperia X10 mini:

Download SuperOneClick from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
For Windows, make sure you have Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 (or newer) installed.
Download any version of SuperOneClick you like, the newer the better.

Change phone setting to enable USB Debugging:
Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging
Connect phone to PC and select "Charge Phone"
Open SuperOneClick and Click on "Root"
For Android 2.1 and above, initially it will fail, and then asking whether the OS is ver2.x.
Select yes.
Reboot the phone after finish rooting.

Install Root Explorer 2.2 into Android 1.6:
Copy the RootExplorer2.2.apk into phone SD card, and install like default.
Click "Allow" to enable Root Explorer accessing to /system

Install ClockworkMod Recovery:

Download CWM-recovery-3.2.0.0-r3-x10mini-Edify.zip (or newer) from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105745
extract the zip file and copy whole files to micro SD card. Just any directory will do.
Using Root Explorer on phone, move the ./METAINF ./bin and ./xbin to (phone internal memory)/system,
and give permission 755(rwxr-xr-x) to files under ./bin and ./xbin.

*Make sure the default kernel is 2.1.1.A.0.6 SE firmware

Install MiniCM6.1
-----------------
Download the latest MiniCM6 ROM from the 'Downloads' page:
http://code.google.com/p/minicm/downloads/list

Rename the 'release'.zip file to update.zip
Copy the update.zip to your sdcard (top level). E.g via your PC or via 'adb push update.zip /sdcard/'
Reboot to CWM recovery
Keep a backup of your current status using CWM's Backup & Restore in case you want to restore.
Select 'wipe data/factory reset' if you were not already using MiniCM6
Select 'apply update from sdcard' from the top menu of CWM recovery
Reboot (first boot will take ~2 mins)
